Mr. Traicoff has provided expert witness services in federal and state courts primarily related to energy trading, risk management, and structured finance in the energy industry. He has commercial and trading experience regarding refined products, natural gas, residual fuel, petrochemicals, feedstocks, and electric power. Steve has also originated, structured, and closed large, complex physical and financial transactions in the natural gas and power industry sectors. Steve has participated as a subject matter expert in a variety of engagements involving analysis, assessment and development of processes and operations of a petrochemical facility.
Steve has significant firsthand experience in planning all critical aspects of risk management, including management of basis spreads and refinery cash margins via NYMEX futures contracts, and in managing all product exchanges, directing all product scheduling and inventory management, and finding alternative higher valued markets for refinery products. Steve’s background includes project financing, investment banking, and structured finance in the energy sector as well as energy-intensive industries such as refining, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, steel and primary metals.
Prior to joining Accumyn, Steve served as an independent advisor to investment banks, hedge funds, corporations and law firms. He also served as consultant-on-call at Bearing Point, assisting clients with the development and implementation of business management strategies. Steve was a Director in the Energy Finance/Industrial Services Group of Enron Capital and Trade Resources Corp. Prior to joining Enron, he worked at ARCO Chemical Co. and Lyondell Petrochemical in a variety of positions that included commercial trading, process engineering, process automation and control, and R&D.
