Mr. McReynolds has provided consulting and expert services in over 100 legal matters. John has been deposed numerous times and provided live testimony in both jury and bench trials as well as in arbitration and state administrative hearings. He assists both individuals and companies with matters of all sizes and scopes, and has been about equally retained by plaintiffs and defendants. John specializes in matters related to construction defects with an emphasis on residential construction, but significant experience in other areas as well. He has hands-on and executive experience in general construction as well as most of the supporting trades. John is a Master Builder, holds a current Texas insurance adjuster’s license, is certified in infrared thermography, and is proficient in Xactimate.

John has been retained in matters including water intrusion, roofing, stucco issues, builder errors, collapse, tile failure, balconies and railings, plumbing matters, weather related damage, vehicle impact, HVAC issues, window damage and failure, glazing failure, leaking or malfunctioning doors, gas leaks, methane seepage, vapor barriers, crawlspace drainage and ventilation, carbon monoxide poisoning, explosion, contract disputes, loss estimation, cause of loss, flashing errors, complex or multiple party matters, attic ventilation matters, insulation matters, disputed insurance claims, concrete failures, plus many more.

Mr. McReynolds is adept at assisting attorneys and bringing together the teams and technology to get a handle on even the most complex matters. He is also able to scale his services to handle matters too small for the larger forensic firms that prefer commercial projects.

Mr. McReynolds spent more than 15 years building and remodeling Houston area homes. He served as a construction instructor for the Houston Community College and was the Home Improvement Columnist for the Houston Post. John has taught construction related courses to many groups, including the National Association of Homebuilders. While in leadership at the local builders association, he created a program to facilitate local training of Master Builder candidates. During the Texas mold crisis, John was the initial member of the Farmer’s Insurance complex claims team and handled many of their most convoluted claims.

John has also assisted numerous manufacturers with product design, development, and support. Mr. McReynolds currently handles warranty service for select clients of Weathershield and Peachtree Windows and Doors and provides consulting services and technical support for a number of builders and contractors.
