Fred Bass, a Forensic Actuary and Managing Director, has extensive consulting experience in the areas of pension plans, welfare plans (including health and life insurance) and litigation support. In recent years he has concentrated on litigation support work in the above areas as well as personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice.
Mr. Bass was previously President of Frederick Bass & Co., Inc., a firm specializing in benefits and actuarial consulting throughout the southwestern United States. Upon selling his firm to Nyhart, he concentrated on litigation support matters.
Mr. Bass previously owned and was the principal actuarial consultant for Bass Consultants, Inc., a firm he started after leaving Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (currently KPMG). He sold Bass Consultants, Inc. to Century Business Services.
While at KPMG, he was Principal-in-Charge of the Human Resources Consulting Practice for the Southwest, Regional Actuarial Principal for the Southwestern United States, and a member of KPMG’s National Actuarial Practice Committee.
Mr. Bass was also a Senior Vice President with a large mid-western financial organization and, before that, Vice President and Actuary with a regional consulting firm.
