Mr. Schrader provides consulting and expert services to clients and their outside advisors in matters relating to the energy and capital project management sectors. He has over 35 years of operating and consulting experience in the petroleum and chemical industries. His 14-year tenure at Chevron Corporation provided extensive refining and supply experience, including managing the operations of refinery process units. Mr. Schrader’s broad experience as a management consultant to the industry since 1991 includes extensive advisory assignments on both domestic and overseas matters. Since 2006 he has provided technical assistance for matters in dispute, such as litigation, arbitration, insurance claims, investment treaty and foreign corrupt practice and bribery cases. His assignments have included acting as an expert witness in international judicial settings (ICC, ICSID, PCA/UNCITRAL and CRCICA), on such topics as business interruption, standard of care, and damage calculations. He has authored numerous expert reports and offered expert testimony in energy-related disputes. Mr. Schrader also served more than 25 years as an officer in the U.S. Army (both active duty and reserve) and is a decorated combat veteran from the Iraq War.
Mr. Schrader is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, and has considerable experience directing projects typically focused on the technical and economic analysis of petroleum refineries, terminals, and transportation. Assignments have included project feasibility studies, market forecasts, transaction due diligence, and capital project development, construction, commissioning, and plant operations. He has extensive experience with plant conceptual design as an owner, and has assisted clients with proposed plant’s engineering design as well as estimating its economic results. Experience as both an owner/operator and as a consultant, participating in various assessments at over one hundred petroleum and petrochemical facilities, provides him with a unique understanding of both an owner’s concerns, as well as an EPC firm’s need to deliver a safe and dependable project.
